Many of you have commented on the unusual images that are featured in many of my posts. I have replied that most of them are fractal renders created by software that is free for download on the internet.
I use many different fractal programs but the three I use the most are:
Mandelbulber: A program that renders fractals as 3D objects that can be explored on the surface and from within.
Apophysis 7x: Which renders a specific kind of fractal called a fractal flame. These types of fractals glow as if they are on fire or are iridescent.
Fractal Explorer: A powerful 2D fractal generator that renders a wide variety of fractal formulas.
I have added links to the sites for each of these programs to my Resources Page with more detailed descriptions of each program. Also, I encourage you to Google the word “fractals” for hundreds of sites and resources that explain fractals, the software that can render them and thousands of images of these beautiful designs.
I’d like to hear from you if you decide to explore fractal art and fractal software.
